Monthy Python the group and Benny Hill are all comedic geniuses. It is a shame people can't get into them.

My favorite part of Holy Grail has to be the ending.

They get arrested. Fade out. After all that searching for the grail, it's something so ridiculous and out of the context of the whole premise and timeframe that serves as the climatic conclusion.

For Life of Brian, again the ending. On the cross singing "Always look on the bright side of life" That film is a great premise, what if you lived next door to the messiah and kept getting mistaken for him?

Meaning of Life, the big musical number to "Every Sperm is Sacred". Second place is the fat guy exploding.

Flying Circus, that's a hard one. I just loved how each 'episode' revolved around some kind of theme or put together so that each sketch flowed into the next in a normal or odd way. I think what they did on their series was their best in both the sketches and how they meshed into each other.

I love Black Adder, I can't stand Mr Bean. I don't know why.

*owns a limited ed Holy Grail dvd* One of the extras involves Japanese dubbing of dialogue, for some reason I found that hilarious.

Anyone a fan of Keeping Up Appearences? Or 'Allo 'Allo?

"Listen very carefully, I shall say zis only once."

English spy, "Good mooning."
French anyone, "What did he say?"
Other French anyone, "'E said good morning. His accent is atrocious."

I don't mean to be rude, but the thread description is pretty poor. It should be called Americans and Monty Python, not British humour. You've only mentioned 2 British comedy shows. It's like me naming a topic American presidents and talking about Kennedy and Lincoln only, as though they the only two American presidents of import.

Monty Python and The Holy Grail is such a great film, I love the way that like halfway through they all just split up and completely forget about the quest. Mr. Bean rules aswell, the one were he goes to the swimming pool is great. Blackadder is great too, Blackadder goes forth is probably my favourite.

I remember in high school people thought we were crazey for "riding" our "steads" in the halls. Grail is classic! Although I haven't met many people here in Iowa who appreciate it.
Red Dwarf is pretty good also from the few episodes I've seen. It only plays at like 12:30am on Sundays here on public television. Since I work at 5am I'm usually asleep.

I'm going to see Ross Noble in Edinburgh in December. I'm a massive Eddie fan but I think Ross Noble is the funniest man I've ever seen. I went to see him at Warwick Uni a few months ago and I couldn't breathe, I thought I was going to have an asthma attack.

Whereas I went to Earl's Court to see Sexie and it was quite poor by Izzard standards. However, crack open Unrepeatable or Definite Article and it's time to order some new piss bags.

Yeah Ross Noble was on Jack Dee the other week, he was fantastic - his meat on the face ramble had me and my mates crying I actually ached from laughing! :-o

I agree sexie is a bit poor following on from unrepeatable and dressed to kill, glorius, definate article.

"Picasso, he should have been a taxidermist!

“I’ve done your dog. It’s got nine eyes down the side, I made his head all square, 15 legs. What do you think of that?”

“Fido looks a bit weird.”"

and...

"There’s a huge hole in the whole Flood drama, because anything that could float or swim got away scot-free, and it was the idea to wipe out everything, He didn’t say, “I will kill everything, except the floating ones and the swimming ones, who will get out due to a loophole.”"

and...

Eddie: You notice how they always put the fruit and veg at the entrance to the supermarket? You go in thinking 'this is a fresh shop, everything in here is FRESH! I will do well to shop here' You never go straight to the bit with the toilet paper, loo brushes and such do you? You'd think 'this is a POO shop! Everything in here is themed on POO!'

or

Eddie: Squirrels always eat nuts with two hands, always two hands, "arararar", and occasionally, they stop and go, oh, uh, ah, as if they're going, "Did I leave the gas on? No! I'm, no I'm a f**king squirrel!" And occasionally they go, "F**king nuts! Fed up with them always. I long for a grapefruit."

Pavlov's Cat Results
-------------------

Day One: Rang bell, cat f*cked off.
Day Two: Rang bell, cat went and answered door.
Day Three: Tried to ring bell, but cat had stolen batteries
Day Four: Rang bell, but cat put his paw on bell so that it only made a "thunk" noise. Then Cat rang his own bell! I ate food.

Monty Python for the win.

One of my favorate scenes is with Sir Bedevere and the witchburning.

bit lenghty, so you can find it here: http://www.fortunecity.com/lavendar/...116/witch.html

Blackadder is also a killer.

Is 'Allo Allo' also british? that show ruled.
'This is nighthawk calling London'
'you stupid woman!'
